About Robin Brass Studio |
PublishingRobin Brass Studio Inc. is a small Canadian publishing house producing primarily non-fiction books of high quality. While our list includes much military history, we are interested in publishing books for general readers in a variety of subject areas, including general Canadian history; military, local, cultural and technological history; natural history; biography; memoirs; public affairs; and other non-fiction areas. While our books often contain illustrations and photos, they are primarily books to read, not coffee table books. We will also consider mainstream fiction, satire and humour of interest to Canadian readers.
Guidelines for submissions Please submit an outline or proposal initially, not a complete manuscript. Submissions should include not only a clear explanation of what your book is about, but also who the intended audience is (general, children, academic, etc.). We need to know your background in the subject and your previous writing experience. Initial submissions can be made by mail, fax or e-mail. PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE ACCEPTING VERY FEW SUBMISSIONS AT PRESENT. |
Design and production servicesRobin Brass Studio designs and produces books under contract for other publishers and also for organizations that wish to put out a well-designed and professional-looking book but lack in-house expertise in book production. Recent design projects include Editing Canadian English (page design for Macfarlane Walter & Ross), Air Transport in Canada, Canadair: The First 50 Years and De Havilland in Canada (for CANAV Books). Recent editorial/design projects include No Price Too High (for McGraw-Hill Ryerson) and Rosedale: The First 100 Years of Rosedale Golf Club (for the club).
